Air France has made an important addition to the international routes welcomed by Kalamata.
The French carrier launched on July 6 the Paris – Kalamata route, which will remain on the schedule for this summer during the peak months of July and August.
The flights will be operated every Saturday with Airbus 319 aircraft with a total of 143 seats.
High level of Hospitality
This new connection will provide easier access to the region for visitors from all over the world.
In addition to the high level of hospitality that the region now offers, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a region with a rich history, stunning landscapes, excellent local gastronomy and cultural heritage.
New flights launched
The two direct flights between Paris and Kalamata are the AF1790 : Departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 08:10am, arrival in Kalamata at 12:30pm and the AF1791: Departure from Kalamata at 13:30pm, arrival in Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 16:30pm:00. The inaugural flight was welcomed at the “Captain Vassilis Konstantakopoulos” airport in Kalamata by the Regional Director of Air France – KLM, Yannis Pantazopoulos, the Deputy Head of the Prefecture of Messinia, Efstathios Anastasopoulos, and tourism operators of Messinia Prefecture.
To celebrate the launch of these new flights, Air France collaborated with the Centre for Creative Employment for the Disabled of the Municipality of Kalamata, organizing a painting exhibition at the airport on the theme of airplanes and the airport itself.
The centre employs a total of 50 people between the ages of 9 and 56.
As part of this cooperation, a special visit to Kalamata airport was organised, allowing participants to explore the airport facilities and learn about its operation as well as watching an aircraft landing.

Mr. Yannis Pantazopoulos said: “We are excited to launch our direct flight to Kalamata, a destination that offers immense cultural and natural beauty. This new route not only strengthens our network but also supports the local economy, boosting tourism.”
The Vice-Regional Governor of Messinia, Efstathios Anastasopoulos, among others, noted: “We welcomed the new flight coming from the French capital, a new connection of Kalamata airport with a major European city, which will be a driver of growth for our region. We believe that the new air connection between Kalamata and Paris will enhance the development of tourism, not only in Messinia, but also in the rest of the Peloponnese. For our part, we have an obligation to insist on the immediate start of the planned upgrading of Kalamata airport, so that it can respond in the best possible way to future challenges”.
