The British this year are determined.
A survey conducted in June shows that 83% of Brits said they will take a holiday abroad this summer.
This is a record high given that June of last year 78% said they would choose to holiday abroad and only 64% said they would in 2022.
The survey sample was taken from over 2,100 people from travel insurance company AllClear.
Beach or pool?
This year, 45%, representing the majority prefer beach holidays and 30% opt for “relaxing pool holidays”, cruises remain a popular choice for people over 55 with 11% choosing them.
Brits ‘ need for sun and sea remains strong.
There has also been a resurgence in city breaks.
Will the British choose heat or cool this year?
The research shows that the popularity of the Nordic countries has doubled in two years from 7% in June 2022 to 14% for this summer holiday season.
Brits are also showing increased interest in Eastern European countries this year, doubling year-on-year to 10% this summer.
However, according to UK travel agents, the prolonged rainfall in recent days has brought a surge in bookings for sunny destinations by Brits.
