The extension of the season is now “visible” for short-term rentals in Greece.
This is highlighted by the latest Statistical Bulletin from INSETE Intelligence, which records the performance of Greek tourism during the first four months of 2025.
The data show that already in April, the number of available beds in short-term rentals exceeded 1 million, whereas in 2024 this milestone was reached for the first time in July, which is also the peak month for tourism.
Despite the increase in available beds, occupancy rates are also rising.
In the relevant report on short-term rental accommodations, INSETE emphasizes:
- The trend in the number of short-term rental properties during the first four months of 2025 shows continued growth compared to the same period in 2024, maintaining the momentum that began in 2023 and intensified throughout 2024.
- The second quarter started with an increase, as in April there were 228,000 properties, up by 16,000 from April 2024 (212,000). This rise further strengthens the upward trend of the first quarter.
- The number of short-term rental beds at the national level recorded a steady upward trend during the first quarter of 2025, continuing the positive trend of 2024.
- The second quarter began with strong growth, as in April, 1 million beds were recorded, an increase of 72,000 compared to the 936,000 in April 2024.
- The composition of travelers in short-term rentals during the first quarter of 2025 highlights an increased presence of foreign visitors, following a rising trend month by month. The start of the second quarter further boosted the dominance of foreigners, as in April they represented 86% of visitors, compared to just 14% domestic travelers.
