The digital era
In this context, the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Region continue to expand the digitisation of information and in doing so, Paphos becomes a smart destination. The initial expansion included the installation a smart sign at the 500-year-old natural monument – the ancient Oak of Akrykus in Fiti.
“SMART” destination
Gradually as Paphos becomes a smart destination, new ways of experiencing the attractions become available to travelers. For example, at the ancient Oak of Akrykus, after first scanning the QR code, the user/visitor can select the language of their choice from their smart device and is offered a wide range of information options. In this case, information about the Dru, about forest protection, the advantages that trees offer to man and nature, the life cycle of trees, etc., as well as rich, photographic material and videos.
What next for Paphos?
In the next few days Paphos enters it’s 5th phase by completing the installation of smart signs. This includes 18 such signs in various areas and points of interest in Paphos, Geroskipou, Akamas, Chloraka, Choli, Salamiou, Simou, Drucia, etc.
