Property management software (PMS) platform Guesty has announced that it has acquired short-term rental channel manager platform Rentals United. Following the transaction, Rentals United will retain its independence and continue to operate as a standalone business with its executive team leading its operations and growth.
The move comes as a logical continuation of the integration of the Rentals United platform into Guesty over the years and in the general trend of acquisitions in the short-term rental technology sector. Afterall, the combination of PMS and channel manager is essential for property managers and this acquisition shows the direction the market is taking as it matures.
It is a move that is expected to create opportunities for both companies’ clients to scale their businesses with sophisticated data-driven products, performance tools with artificial intelligence and an extensive distribution network.
Amiad Soto, co-founder and CEO of Guesty, said: “We see this as a natural fit for two leading industry players. It creates a great synergy for STR and vacation rental managers. The combination of our technologically advanced offering, with Rentals United’s distribution capabilities will deliver both increased booking volume and more relevant bookings.”
Yair Holtzer, chief revenue officer at Guesty, said: “This acquisition creates a profitable business proposition for all property managers – from individual hosts to management companies – to maximise visibility, distribution and engagement with their prospective audience. In addition, all Rentals United and Guesty partners will benefit from a more robust platform.”
Guesty: Finance and investment
Just last month Guesty raised $130 million in a Series F funding round led by global investment firm KKR.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed, as it appears the funding contributed to the acquisition of Rentals United. This is actually Guesty’s fifth acquisition since 2022, it was preceded by StaySense, a distribution solution, Kigo and Hirum software companies for the hospitality industry, and YieldPlanet, a revenue management and distribution platform focused on hotels.
Prior to 2022 it had also acquired property management software (PMS) companies Your Porter and MyVR.
Operating in more than 80 countries, Guesty’s PMS is designed to serve large and small property management companies as well as individual hosts, providing a comprehensive solution with all the necessary tools.
The Rentals United

Its channel manager integrates with more than 100 technology providers, offering innovative tools for channel optimization. This includes an AI powered data platform to analyse each property’s performance and make personalised recommendations.
Rentals United CEO James Burrows said: “Our acquisition by Guesty, the clear software leader in the STR property management sector, is a testament to our own technical capability. We believe it will strengthen our business and in the long term our offering to customers, partners and employees. We have known Guesty’s leadership team for many years and are pleased to merge our world-class operations as the STR market continues to accelerate.”
