Booking.com has announced the winners of the 14th annual Traveller Review Awards, recognizing partners that consistently deliver high-quality hospitality worldwide. The awards are based on more than 370 million verified traveler reviews and, for 2026, honor a total of 1.81 million travel partners across 221 countries and territories.
This year’s awardees include 1,817,848 accommodations, 1,977 car rental companies, and 137 airport transportation providers, reflecting the growing scale and diversity of global tourism.
Greece in the global top 10
Italy remains in first place for the ninth consecutive year with 214,666 awarded partners, followed by France (170,596) and Spain (152,292). Germany (111,685) and the United Kingdom (93,989) rank fourth and fifth respectively.
Brazil rises to sixth place (80,791), followed by the United States (77,949) and Poland (72,619). Greece ranks 9th globally with 71,230 awarded partners, while Croatia (58,707) completes the top 10.
Apartments dominate – Growth for campsites and villas
Accommodations continue to dominate the awards, with apartments remaining the most awarded property type for the ninth consecutive year, receiving 901,481 awards. Holiday homes follow with 287,464, while hotels account for 197,658 awards.
The largest annual increases were recorded by campsites and villas, both up 15%, while traditional Japanese ryokans grew by 13%. This trend reflects travelers’ growing demand for authentic experiences and character-rich stays.
Strong growth in car rentals and transportation
The number of awarded car rental companies rose by 49% compared to 2025, reaching 1,977. The United States leads with 203 awarded providers, followed by the United Kingdom (174) and Spain (155).
Airport transportation providers also increased, reaching 137, marking an 11% year-on-year rise. This development highlights the expanding role of mobility services in shaping a seamless travel experience.
Countries with the fastest growth
Beyond traditionally strong markets, several countries recorded significant growth in awarded partners. Bulgaria leads with an impressive 68% increase compared to 2025, followed by South Korea (46%) and China (39%). Japan (29%) and Norway (19%) also rank among the top five.

Booking.com also released its list of the most welcoming destinations worldwide for 2026, based on the share of properties receiving an award.
