At the Ministry of Tourism in Cyprus there are over 32,000 Airbnb beds registered in the official Self-Catering Accommodation Registry.
This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis, speaking this morning on RIK’s Trito.
Koumis stated that:
“This phenomenon has been observed for the last 10 years in Cyprus. We received 23,000 registered beds from the beginning, we announced a campaign to register the rest and as a result, 9000 more beds have been registered while, at the same time, registration and controls continue.”
Airbnb beds
Koumis stressed that sanctions are imposed on those hosts who are found to be breaking the law when it comes to short-term rental.
According to Deputy Minister Koumis, it is estimated that in fact, Cyprus has over 50,000 Airbnb beds.

Tourist Furnished Resorts
Tourist Furnished Residences
Apartments
