The neighborhood of Psyrri, one of the oldest in Athens, is now arty and bohemian. You may find old fashioned workshops and trendy shops hidden in its alleys, street art and alternative spaces, coffee shops, pastry shops, fashionable bars, traditional restaurants. Its vibrant atmosphere attracts hundreds of visitors.
For a bit of exploration off the beaten path, Exarchia is famous as an anarchist hotspot. But this neighborhood has always been a meeting point for exchanging ideas, creativity and youth culture. Better avoid the square, especially after sunset as it attracts all kinds of delinquents. But you may find interesting wandering around the small streets with artistic graffiti, cultural spaces and vintage stores.
