{"id":42005,"date":"2026-09-02T12:05:05","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T09:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bnbnews.gr\/?p=42005"},"modified":"2026-09-01T18:32:32","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T15:32:32","slug":"short-term-rentals-experiences-booked-before-check-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bnbnews.gr\/en\/property-management\/42005\/short-term-rentals-experiences-booked-before-check-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Short-term rentals: 74% of experiences are booked before check-in"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">New data from <strong>Localbird<\/strong> shows that guests plan and purchase most additional experiences before arriving at their accommodation \u2013 <strong>Higher spending<\/strong> at premium properties<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The <strong>interest<\/strong> of short-term rental guests in additional experiences is expressed mainly <strong>before their arrival<\/strong> at the property, according to new data from digital <strong>concierge<\/strong> platform <strong>Localbird<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In particular, 74% of experience bookings are made before check-in, according to the <strong>State of STR Experiences 2026<\/strong> report, which is based on an analysis of more than 7,500 experience bookings in the US, Mexico and Costa Rica, during the period from July 2025 to June 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The data shows that guests who choose <strong>higher-value services<\/strong>, such as private chefs, boat charters and guided tours, tend to make their bookings considerably earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">According to Localbird, this trend highlights the <strong>importance of communication<\/strong> with guests already during the pre-arrival stage. Property managers can therefore reach guests at a time when they are still planning their holiday itinerary and budget.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Higher spending at more expensive properties<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Demand for additional services is particularly high among guests staying at properties priced at least <strong>$500<\/strong> per night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In this category, 44% of guests interacted with a <strong>digital concierge<\/strong>, while 18% completed a booking. However, they contributed just 18% of total revenue, highlighting the difference between the number of bookings and the average transaction value.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">They were followed by adventures and <strong>land-based<\/strong> tours, with a 16% share of bookings, <strong>water<\/strong> activities at 13% and <strong>vehicle<\/strong> rentals at 9%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In terms of guest profile, families accounted for <strong>31%<\/strong> of interactions with a digital concierge, while groups of at least five adults accounted for <strong>24%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u201cThe experience starts from the moment of booking\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cThe guest experience does not start at check-in.
