The company reported $3.6 billion in revenue<\/strong>, up 17% year over year, while Gross Booking Value (GBV)<\/strong> increased 16% to $27.2 billion.<\/p>\n

The number of nights and service bookings<\/strong> increased 10% year over year, accelerating from the first quarter of 2026. Net income reached $816 million, while Adjusted EBITDA<\/strong> rose 21% to $1.3 billion, with the margin increasing to 35%.<\/p>\n

What the results show<\/h2>\n

According to the company, the momentum during the quarter was not limited to growth markets, but also improved across several of its largest core markets. Airbnb said that growth in nights booked by travelers from the U.S., France, the U.K. and Australia accelerated in the second quarter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The company attributes part of the faster pace of product development to the use of artificial intelligence. According to Airbnb, AI has helped reduce the time from idea to delivery by as much as 60%, while the company has launched nearly 80% more features and improvements so far this year compared with the same period in 2025.<\/p>\n

Changes for guests and hosts<\/h2>\n

In the same update, Airbnb outlined a series of platform improvements for both guests and hosts.<\/p>\n

For guests, the company highlighted improvements to search and property discovery, a redesigned homepage, smarter ranking of search results, more detailed neighborhood maps, and a simpler login and sign-up process.<\/p>\n

On payments and checkout, Airbnb said it is expanding the options available to users, with Reserve Now, Pay Later<\/strong> now available across more listings and countries. The company is also introducing more flexible cancellation policies, while users in Mexico and Brazil can now pay in interest-free installments.<\/p>\n

For hosts, Airbnb said it has simplified pricing in Airbnb Setup, introduced a single service fee for API-connected hosts, updated cancellation policies and added more personalized recommendations and insights to help hosts manage listings, availability and pricing. The company has also upgraded its earnings dashboard and listing editor.<\/p>\n

New products, services and AI<\/h2>\n

Airbnb continues to expand the range of services available through its platform. As part of its 2026 Summer Release<\/strong><\/a>, the company added services including grocery delivery, car rentals, airport pickups and luggage storage, while also introducing resort passes.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Airbnb increased its supply of Experiences by nearly 80% year over year in the second quarter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the boutique and independent hotel segment, Airbnb said it added thousands of properties across more than 20 major destinations, including New York, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome and Singapore<\/strong>. The company also noted that approximately 35% of first-time users who book a hotel on Airbnb return to book a home.<\/p>\n

In artificial intelligence, Airbnb said its AI tools can now generate highlights from listing descriptions and guest reviews, while AI-generated home comparisons<\/strong> are scheduled to launch later this year.<\/p>\n

For customer support, the company said its AI assistant is now available in more than 50 languages and resolves around 45% of cases initiated through the assistant without the involvement of a human agent.<\/p>\n

Airbnb also reported that support costs per booking fell by approximately 16% year over year in the second quarter<\/strong>, partly as a result of improvements to its AI assistant.<\/p>\n

Airbnb raises its 2026 outlook<\/h2>\n

Based on its performance during the first half of the year, Airbnb raised its full-year outlook for 2026.<\/p>\n

For the third quarter, the company expects revenue of $4.69 billion to $4.77 billion<\/strong>, representing year-over-year growth of 15% to 17%, including approximately three percentage points of positive FX impact after hedging.<\/p>\n

For the full year, Airbnb now expects revenue to grow at at least a mid-teens percentage rate<\/strong> compared with 2025, while forecasting an Adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 35.5%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The company attributed the upgraded outlook to demand on the platform, product progress and investments in talent, technology and marketing.<\/p>\n
