On July 4<\/strong>, 2026, the United States will celebrate one of the most important milestones in the country\u2019s history, the 250th anniversary of American Independence.<\/p>\n

Independence Day is every year a unique opportunity<\/strong> for Americans to take 4\u20135 day getaways, both domestic and international, around the weekend of July 4th.<\/p>\n

Historic destinations and the World Cup drive demand<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\u0397\u03a0\u0391For this year, PriceLabs<\/strong> provided highly interesting data: there is a significant increase in demand for short-term rental accommodation in historic destinations<\/strong> across the United States, as the celebrations marking 250 years since the founding of the U.S. (America250) are boosting travel bookings, beyond the cities hosting FIFA World Cup matches.<\/p>\n

According to PriceLabs data, Williamsburg, Virginia records the largest increase in overnight bookings, with a 74% rise compared to last year. It is followed by Philadelphia (+64%) and Washington, D.C. (+53%), as travelers choose destinations hosting anniversary events<\/strong> for the 250th anniversary of American independence.<\/p>\n

The picture is also particularly strong in Florida. Miami records a 90% increase in bookings, driven both by the July 4th holiday and the World Cup<\/strong> match taking place on July 3rd. Meanwhile, bookings in Fort Lauderdale rose by 51%, while Orlando saw a 60% increase.<\/p>\n

The increased demand is also leading to a significant rise in average daily rates (ADR). Philadelphia records the largest increase<\/strong>, with prices up 84% compared to last year. It is followed by Atlanta (+45%), Seattle (+42%), and Miami (+42%).<\/p>\n

As PriceLabs<\/strong> points out, owners and property managers of accommodations in historic destinations are benefiting from both higher occupancy rates and increased revenue, as many travelers are combining their holiday celebrations with cultural<\/strong> and heritage<\/strong> tourism.<\/p>\n
