Short-term rentals<\/strong> in major European cities hosting Christmas markets<\/strong> are seeing heightened demand, with December bookings already surpassing last year\u2019s levels, according to PriceLabs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The analysis of 15 cities shows growth across the board, with Budapest<\/strong> and Frankfurt<\/strong> leading the way: nights booked have risen by 39% and 35%, respectively. Basel<\/strong> (+26%), Prague<\/strong> (+24%), and Krakow<\/strong> (+24%) follow closely.<\/p>\n

Despite strong demand, accommodation supply has decreased in 10 of the 15 popular destinations, reflecting stricter regulations and higher operational costs for property owners.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Alsace<\/strong> proves once again to be a \u201cmagnet\u201d for travelers. Strasbourg<\/strong> and Colmar<\/strong>\u2014among Europe\u2019s most famous Christmas markets\u2014record impressive occupancy for December 1\u201320, reaching 73% and 70%, respectively.<\/p>\n

Price increases \u2013 Budapest remains the most affordable<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Average daily rates (ADR) have risen in all destinations. The largest increases are seen in Budapest (+27%), followed by Vienna (+25%) and Innsbruck (+24%). Despite this significant rise, Budapest remains the most budget-friendly option, with an average rate of \u20ac81 per night. Other affordable choices include Metz (\u20ac83) and Krakow (\u20ac87).<\/p>\n

At the top end, Strasbourg (\u20ac249), Colmar (\u20ac248), and Vienna (\u20ac231) are the most expensive Christmas market destinations, confirming their popularity among travelers seeking high-demand festive experiences.<\/p>\n
