Accommodation: Record \u20ac11 billion \u2013 Rhodes & Lasithi lead the way<\/h3>\n

The accommodation sector recorded a turnover of \u20ac11.005 billion<\/strong>, marking a 9.2% increase<\/strong> from \u20ac10.078 billion in 2023<\/strong>. This impressive performance was driven by strong tourist flows, higher occupancy rates, and a surge in bookings from international travelers.<\/p>\n

The top-performing regions were:<\/p>\n

  • Rhodes:<\/strong> With a 23.7% increase<\/strong>, it led in total revenue.<\/li>\n
  • Lasithi:<\/strong> Saw a 14.7% rise<\/strong>, reflecting Crete\u2019s strong tourism momentum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    However, the trend was not uniform across all destinations. The Santorini (Thira) and Mykonos regional units<\/strong> recorded declines of 9.3% and 7.3%<\/strong>, respectively. These drops are attributed to factors such as destination saturation, rising prices, and shifting visitor preferences.<\/p>\n

    Dining: Surpassing \u20ac10 billion \u2013 2.4% growth<\/h3>\n

    The dining sector<\/strong> experienced moderate growth<\/strong> compared to the accommodation industry. The total turnover in food service businesses reached \u20ac10.128 billion<\/strong>, reflecting a 2.4% increase<\/strong> from \u20ac9.893 billion in 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
