Greece remains one of the top tourist destinations for luxury accommodation, with villa bookings recording a significant increase for 2025. According to British villa management company CV Villas, bookings for Greece have increased by 29% compared to the same period last year, reflecting the continued preference of top spending tourists.
Increased villa bookings, increased competition
Greece, with popular destinations such as Corfu, Rhodes, Crete, Mykonos, and Zakynthos, is a star in the luxury holiday market. However, the country’s rise is accompanied by increasing competition in the Mediterranean:
Portugal: +40%
Italy: +39%
Turkey: +166%
Despite Turkey’s impressive growth, the absolute numbers remain lower than those of Greece, confirming the consistently high demand for Greek destinations.
New opportunities for luxury tourism in Greece
The upward trend in villa bookings offers significant opportunities for Greece. According to Chris Etheridge, business development director at CV Villas, the company is expanding its offerings, including for five, six and ten-day stays. These changes, whilst positive for Greece, concern competitor destinations such as Croatia and the Caribbean.
CV Villas offers luxury villas in top Greek destinations, such as: Corfu, Rhodes, Crete, Mykonos, Lefkada, Paxos, Peloponnese.
The importance of luxury accommodation for Greece
The increased demand from high-income, high spending tourists is a positive sign for the course of Greek tourism in 2025. At the same time, it highlights the need for strategic initiatives so that Greece maintains its competitiveness.
Given that October was a particularly strong month for bookings, experts estimate that 2025 will be a year that will boost tourism revenues and offer significant growth opportunities for the hospitality sector.
