Property management software (PMS) platform Guesty has announced it´s latest acquisition as the short-term rental channel manager Rentals United. Moving forward, Rentals United will retain its independence and continue to operate as a standalone business with its executive team leading its operations and growth.
Rentals United and Guesty technology have been integrated for many years so the move is a logical continuation of that partnership. Strong PMS-Channel Manager offerings in the market are essential for short and mid-term rental property managers. Short term rental tech company acquisition is a prevailing trend in the industry and it just highlights the positive direction the market is taking as it matures.
As the short-term rental (STR) industry matures, opportunities grow and with Guesty´s latest move we expect to see more opportunities for customers of both companies. With such powerful tools available we expect to see both Guetsy and Rentals United customers scale their businesses easier with access to sophisticated data-driven products, AI performance tools and an extensive distribution network.
Amiad Soto, co-founder and CEO of Guesty, said: “We see this as a natural fit for two leading players in the industry. It creates a great synergy for STR managers and vacation rentals. Combining our technologically advanced offering with Rentals United’s distribution capabilities will deliver both increased booking volume and more relevant bookings.”
Yair Holtzer, Chief Revenue Officer of Guesty, said: “This acquisition creates a profitable business proposition for all property managers – from individual hosts to management companies – to maximize visibility, distribution and engagement with their prospective audiences. Additionally, all of Rentals United and Guesty’s partners will benefit from a more robust platform.”
Guesty: Funding and Investments
Just last month Guesty raised an impressive $130 million in a Series F funding round led by global investment firm KKR.
Whilst details of the Guesty- Rentals United transaction were not announced, it appears the recent financing contributed to the acquisition. Guesty are no strangers to acquiring industry technologies, in fact this is Guesty´s fifth acquisition since 2022 alone. As part of their consolidation of tools to create a more “robust platform”, Guesty previously acquired distribution solution StaySense, the all-in-one PMS Kigo, Hirum hospitality industry software and YieldPlanet which brought a revenue management and distribution component to the overall offering. Prior to 2022, the PMS´ Your Porter and MyVR were also acquired by Guesty.
Operating in more than 80 countries, Guesty’s PMS is designed to serve the whole spectrum of property management companies (PMCs) we see in the market. From individual hosts, small to medium sized operations, right up to the large PMCs dominating the industry, Guesty provides a complete property management solution with all the necessary tools available.
