Munich-based short term rental platform Holidu is strengthening its presence in the Balearic Islands by acquiring the booking portal Finca Mallorca. Finca Mallorca has been active in the luxury rental property sector in Mallorca since 1994.
The agreement includes the integration of around 200 exclusive Finca Mallorca listings into the Holidu platform. This offers visitors an enhanced portfolio of high quality properties and expands the visibility of owners through Holidu’s digital channels.
“Finca Mallorca is a strong brand with loyal customers and an exceptional portfolio,” said Holidu co-founder and CEO Johannes Siebers. “We are excited to add these exclusive properties to our network.”
With the acquisition, Finca Mallorca owners gain access to Holidu’s technology solutions such as instant booking, payment processing, automated guest registration and local support from Holidu’s team in Mallorca. At the same time, listings will also be maintained on the Finca Mallorca website, ensuring the continuation of the brand’s recognisable identity.
From a guest perspective, the partnership promises an improved booking experience and a greater variety of options. “Through the partnership with Holidu, we can offer greater reliability and more choice to our guests,” said Finca Mallorca founder and CEO Susanne Jachmich.
Holidu has been operating in Mallorca since 2016 and currently manages around 3,000 properties in the Balearic Islands. The local team of 10 people supports owners with platform integration, registrations and operational procedures.
“Mallorca is one of our key markets. Many owners are already using our technology to increase bookings and save time. Investments like this strengthen our strategic presence in target markets,” said Siebers.
Travel trends in the Balearic Islands in 2025
At the same time, Holidu also presented interesting data on travel trends in the Balearic Islands for 2025:
- 28% of bookings are made 3 to 6 months in advance, however an increase in last minute bookings is expected.
- 30% of this year’s bookings are for groups of more than six people.
- The average length of stay in high season increases from 8 to 9 days.
- Popular features: swimming pool, air conditioning and internet access.
- 53% of owners plan moderate price increases in 2025 due to rising costs.
- Key challenges include inflation and red tape, with 87% of owners reporting an increase in administrative requirements due to regulations.
The survey was based on responses from 561 owners in Spain in February 2025, with booking data collected in March.
Holidu manages over 50,000 rental properties across Europe, attracting more than 100 million visitors annually.
